Federal Government Exterior Cladding Improvements

The Dominion building was originally constructed between 1935 and 1936 with an approximate gross footprint of 2,620 m². Use of the building consists of multiple government departments. The building was formally recognized as a Recognized Federal Heritage Building in 1990 for its historical value as a landmark of the city of London, as well as its significance to the Public Works Construction Act (PWCA) and is one of the more prominent buildings erected under this act.
FSA was engaged to complete an IAR for the client after completing investigations of the cladding and roof conditions. The IAR presented an options analysis from which the client proceeded and engaged FSA to complete design, administration and quality assurance of construction for the masonry repairs which included historic masonry, mortar sealant and stone repairs and roof replacement.
