Canadian Museum of Nature
1740 Pink Road, Gatineau QC
2011 - 2012

The Natural Heritage Building at 1740 Pink Road, Gatineau, Quebec is the Canadian Museum of Nature's science and administration centre.  The 20,500 square-metre building features a large collections area, dry and wet laboratories and a full-scale carpentry workshop.

In 2011, the Museum initiated a project to replace all roof systems, including the use of new vegetative roof systems, as well as perform glazing and airtightness upgrades.

FSA’s Role

FSA was engaged to investigate and recommend roof and glazing system options, respecting the Museum's proposed budget. FSA prepared construction documents in English and French, participated in the tendering and award, and administered three separate projects for re-roofing, glazing replacement and airtightness improvements.
